Definition: The biosynthesis of PEPTIDES and PROTEINS on RIBOSOMES, directed by MESSENGER RNA, via TRANSFER RNA that is charged with standard proteinogenic AMINO ACIDS.  do not confuse the ribosome translocation step of PROTEIN BIOSYNTHESIS with TRANSLOCATION, GENETIC a chromosome aberration; coordinate with the specific protein/biosyn only when genetic translation is discussed; PEPTIDE BIOSYNTHESIS and PEPTIDE BIOSYNTHE
