Definition: A genus of REOVIRIDAE, causing acute gastroenteritis in BIRDS and MAMMALS, including humans. Transmission is horizontal and by environmental contamination. Seven species (Rotaviruses A thru G) are recognized.  infection    Other names Neonatal Calf Diarrhea Virus; Rotaviruses
