More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: An enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a formyl group from N10-formyltetrahydrofolate to N1-(5-phospho-D-ribosyl)glycinamide to yield N2-formyl-N1-(5-phospho-D-ribosyl)glycinamide and tetrahydrofolate. It plays a role in the de novo purine biosynthetic pathway.      Other names GARTFase; Transformylase, Glycinamideribotide; Transformylase, Glycinamide Ribonucleotide; Transformylase, GAR; Transformylase, 5'-Phosphoribosylglycinamide; Transformylase, 2-Amino-N-Ribosylacetamide 5'-Phos; Ribonucleotide Transformylase, Glycinamide; Formyltransferase, Phosphoribosylglycinamide; Formyltransferase, GAR; 5'-Phosphate Transformylase, 2-Amino-N-Ribosylacet; 5' Phosphoribosylglycinamide Transformylase; 2 Amino N Ribosylacetamide 5' Phosphate Transformy; Glycinamideribotide Transformylase; Glycinamide Ribonucleotide Transformylase; GAR Transformylase; GAR Formyltransferase; 5'-Phosphoribosylglycinamide Transformylase; 2-Amino-N-Ribosylacetamide 5'-Phosphate Transformy
