Definition: A cytoskeletal protein associated with cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions. The amino acid sequence of human vinculin has been determined. The protein consists of 1066 amino acid residues and its gene has been assigned to chromosome 10.  a cytoskeletal protein in cell-cell & cell-matrix interactions; /drug eff /ultrastruct permitted    Other names beta-Vinculin; alpha-Vinculin; beta Vinculin; alpha Vinculin; Isovinculin
