Sodium-Coupled Vitamin C Transporters

More information in Books or onNLM PubMed
Definition: Membrane transport proteins that actively co-transport ASCORBIC ACID and sodium ions across the CELL MEMBRANE. Dietary absorption of VITAMIN C is highly dependent upon this class of transporters and a subset of SODIUM GLUCOSE TRANSPORTERS which transport the oxidized form of vitamin C, DEHYDROASCORBIC ACID.      Other names Transporter, SLC23A2; Sodium Dependent Vitamin C Transporter 2; Sodium Dependent Vitamin C Transporter 1; Sodium Dependent Vitamin C Transporter; Sodium Coupled Vitamin C Transporters; Solute Carrier Family 23 (Nucleobase Transporters); Solute Carrier Family 23 (Nucleobase Transporters); Sodium-Dependent Vitamin C Transporter 2; Sodium-Dependent Vitamin C Transporter 1; Sodium-Dependent Vitamin C Transporter; SVCT 2, Ascorbic Acid Transporter; SVCT 1, Ascorbic Acid Transporter; Transporter, SLC23A1; SLC23A2 Transporter; SLC23A1 Transporter
