Cyclin G2

Definition: An unusual cyclin subtype that is found highly expressed in terminally differentiated cells. Unlike conventional cyclins increased expression of cyclin G2 is believed to cause a withdrawal of cells from the CELL CYCLE.  a specific cyclin; not for cyclins present during G2 PHASE of the cell cycle
