Definition: A long-chain fatty acid ester of carnitine which facilitates the transfer of long-chain fatty acids from cytoplasm into mitochondria during the oxidation of fatty acids.  deficiency: coordinate PALMITOYLCARNITINE /defic (IM) with VITAMIN B DEFICIENCY (IM)
