Microbial Sensitivity Tests

Definition: Any tests that demonstrate the relative efficacy of different chemotherapeutic agents against specific microorganisms (i.e., bacteria, fungi, viruses).  IM when general; NIM when with specific drug (IM) & specific micro-organisms (IM); note entry term MINIMUM INHIBITORY CONCENTRATION but bactericidal effect of an antimicrobial drug using patient's blood (= SERUM BACTERICIDAL TEST + specific drug); PARASI
