Definition: A condition characterized by the presence of ENDOTOXINS in the blood. On lysis, the outer cell wall of gram-negative bacteria enters the systemic circulation and initiates a pathophysiologic cascade of pro-inflammatory mediators.  coordinate IM with specific bacterial infection heading (IM) or specific bacterium (IM) if precoordinated bacterial infection heading is not in MeSH; do not use /blood to cover -emia
