Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

Definition: A mild, highly infectious viral disease of children, characterized by vesicular lesions in the mouth and on the hands and feet. It is caused by coxsackieviruses A.  do not confuse with FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE or with HAND-FOOT SYNDROME
