Definition: A nonchromaffin paraganglion located in the wall of the jugular bulb. The most common tumors of the middle ear arise from this tissue. (Lockard, Desk Reference for Neuroscience, 1992, p114)  a nonchromaffin paraganglion    Other names Jugulare, Glomus
